DIAL DRAW MINSTER IN FIRST FA VASE TIE

DIAL DRAW MINSTER IN FIRST FA VASE TIE

Andy Fitzsimons3 Jul - 11:15

Can Dial make history in first Vase appearance?

The FA has today (3 July 2026) published the draw for the first qualifying round of the 2026/27 Isuzu FA Vase.

After much-anticipation, Dial have received an away tie against Minster of the Southern Counties Eastern Football League Division One (step 6).

It's the first time that Dial have been accepted into the illustrious non-League competition for clubs at steps 5 and 6 of the National League System (part of the English football league system). Minster will make for tough opposition after they finished runners up to Hawkinge Town in the NRG 24HR Gym Kent County Football League (step 7) last season.

First qualifying round ties are due to take place across the weekend of Saturday, 15 August, with the winners of the round receiving £550 in prize money.

Only one club from Surrey has won The FA Vase (which replaced The FA Amateur Cup) since 1974, when Chertsey Town beat Cray Valley Paper Mills 3-1 after extra time at Wembley Stadium.

Surrey-based Epsom & Ewell AFC and Whyteleafe have both reached the FA Vase final in 1975 and 2025, with both losing 2-1 to Hoddesdon Town and Whitstable Town respectively.
