Dial are back on the road on Tuesday (23 July) when Steve Brown's side travel to Hampshire Premier Football League (step 7) side Whitehill & Bordon. 7:30pm. k.o.
After a below-par pre-season performance against newly promoted Staines & Lammas on Saturday (20 July), Brown has thrown down the gauntlet to his players to 'put in a shift' as opposed to going through the motions.
The Dial boss was less than enamoured with his players' lackluster showing against Lammas at the weekend, which was in stark contrast to the team's impressive performance over Knaphill four days earlier (16 July).
Dial's pre-season fixture against Whitehill & Bordon will be the first meeting between the two clubs, and Brown, along with assistant Matt Bunyan, will again be using the fixture to gauge players' fitness, aptitude and game management ahead of the first Surrey Premier County Football League fixture on 24 August.
Speaking to DialSquareFC.com after the Lammas defeat, Brown said: "The players where left in no doubt what Bunners and I thought after Saturday. Even though it was only a pre-season fixture, the performance level was very disappointing.
In some ways, it was a bit of reality-check. It reinforced that, just because you come into a match [v Staines & Lammas] off the back of a great performance, you still need to earn the right to win the next [fixture]. Therefore, I'm expecting a lot more from the players against Whitehill & Bordon," he added.
The match, which is Dial's seventh pre-season friendly, will be played at Daly Ground (3G pitch) - once home to the Army's football team - now part of Oakmoor School off Budds Lane in Bordon (SatNav GU35 0JB).
The nearest rail station to the venue is Liphook, which is on the South Western Railway. It's situated just under six miles from the School (check route planner). Liphook Cars provides a taxi service to and from the station, if required.
