Dial have a point to prove; well, several, when Steve Brown's side host basement club Dorking Wanderers (B team) in the league at Redding Way today (19 Sept). 3pm k.o.

Despite taking seven points and keeping three clean sheets from their past three fixtures, memories of last month's crushing Peter Bentley (League) Cup defeat at the Meadowbank Stadium are still raw.

While today's visitors put on textbook display of pass and move (and score) on the night, the 7-0 win is surprisingly not reflective of the form guide, which has seen Wanderers B lose eight of their nine subsequent league and cup fixtures, including suffering a 7-0 home defeat against Guildford City.

After an indifferent start to their 2026/27 campaign, Dial have got into their stride from the August bank holiday, which has been underpinned by the arrival of former Bedfont Sports and FC Deportivo Galicia goalkeeper George Douglas, along with Deji Adeosun (Godalming Town) and Charlie Plant (Knaphill) - to name a few.

And while Daniel Wanyonyi, Danny Taylor and George Frith are probably still a week or two away from returning to action, Brown is confident that Dial have enough in the armoury to pick up three points on home soil this afternoon.

With Tuesday's (15 Sept) league game against Jarvis Brook postponed due to The Brook's rescheduled FA Vase game against Welling Town, Brown is expected to keep faith with the mainstay of the squad that beat Mile Oak 2-0 at Redding Way at fortnight ago.

Speaking to DialSquareFC.com last night, Brown said: "We have unfinished business against Dorking [Wanderers B] after what transpired in the cup. So, there's more than just three points riding on today.

"The players are under no illusion what's required: we need to match their effort, play with intensity and impose ourselves on the game from the first whistle. The players need to put in a performance, not go through the motions.

"Although we still have four players out, I believe we still have enough quality in the squad to overturn our previous result against Dorking and continue to move up the league table.

"It will also be good to have Aidan Doran back in the squad," he added.
