Dial boss Steve Brown says that 'three points is a must' when his side travel to fellow promotion chasers CB Hounslow & Abbots at Green Lane tonight (26 Feb).
The Dragons are the only other side in the Surrey Premier County Football League that have applied for promotion to the National League System (step 6>) after Worcester Park withdrew their application on the grounds of an "administration oversight."
So, after two postponements, the scene is set for Dial to finally face The Dragons for the first time this season. And Brown knows only too well that Green Lane isn't an easy place to go and come away with three points.
The last and only time that Dial have played at Green Lane was back on 31 August 2024, which saw the hosts come from behind to win 4-2 after Adam Bicknell and Harry Rice had given Dial a 2-1 lead.
However, with 10 points currently separating Dial from their MIddlesex FA opponents, securing victory at Green Lane tonight could render the gap insurmountable for Hounslow if they are to finish above Dial in a top-five of the table.
With seven draws from 17 league fixtures, no team has drawn more matches than Hounslow so far this season. Moreover, The Dragons haven't lost in the league since 11 October (2025), and have only conceded more than one-goal in two of their past 10 league fixtures, making Wes Lennon's side difficult to beat.
Following Dial's assured 2-0 win over Cranleigh last Saturday (21 Feb), Brown is hoping to have George Frith and Harry Rice back. Adam Bicknell is also expected to make the 16-man squad after being ineligible to play against his former club on Saturday. Meanwhile, Aidan Doran is unavailable for tonight's fixture and Matt Hayes is likely to come into the starting XI to replace the absent James Vass to help shore up the backline.
Speaking to DialSquareFC.com yesterday (25 Feb), Brown said: "With only one club eligible for promotion from the Surrey Premier [County Football] League, it's a big fixture for both sides in the quest for promotion.
"We know that Hounslow don't concede many goals, but it's difficult to know what to expect from them given that they have only played three times since the turn of the year.
"That said, I expect them to be lively and physical, so we will need to match that level of intensity if we are going to come away with the points," he added.
