Dial boss Steve Brown is still undecided on his strongest XI ahead of today's pre-season friendly against Cove at Royal Holloway Sports Centre (3G). 2pm.

With just two fixtures remaining before the start of the Southern Combination Football League Division One campaign, Brown and coach Jake Kennett are expected to make a decision on several triallists before agreeing to put pen to paper.

For Cove, today is the club's fourth friendly, with the Wasps having already played Wokingham Town, Tadley Calleva, and Whitehill & Bordon in July. Under the management of Dan Goodall; once in the running for the vacant managerial role at Dial in 2022, and assistant manager Josh Woodcock, Cove are looking to improve on their sixth-place finish in division one of the Wessex Foothall League (step 6) in April.

For Dial, Brown captured the signings of several new players in midweek, with Daniel Wanyonyi (ex-Wimbledon Casuals) and Tosin Oyebola (ex-Battersea Ironsides) both committing themselves to the club for the 2026/27 season.

Meanwhile, former Westfield, South Park and Knaphill midfielder, Adam Aziz, rejoins The Dial after a brief stint with Camberley Town and Horley Town last season.

Speaking after Dial's 5-3 win over Combined Counties Football League Premier Division South side Knaphill on Tuesday (21 July), Brown is confident that, pending any injuries, Dial are more than capable of holding their own in the National League System this season. And, perhaps, surprising one or two teams along the way.
