DIAL FINALLY RETURN TO ALWYNS LANE

DIAL FINALLY RETURN TO ALWYNS LANE

Andy Fitzsimons17 Mar - 07:00

Brown looking to complete a league and cup double over The Stones

Dial will make a welcome return to Alwyns Lane for the first time in three months this evening (17 Match) when Steve Brown's side entertain neighbours Addlestone. 7:30pm k.o.

Just three days after beating The Stones 3-0 four miles up the road; to progress to their first county cup final, Dial will be hoping to maintain their pressure on Wimbledon Casuals and Battersea Ironsides at the top of the Surrey Premier County Football League table.

With tonight's visitors only two points above the relegation zone, it's must-win game for both sides as the fight for survival and promotion heats up.

Brown is expected to keep faith with the mainstay of the squad that beat The Stones on Saturday, with Danny Taylor, Louie Rogers and Ross Ewen also likely to come back into the line-up due to the unavailability of Callum Abraham-Barlow, Daniel Cenzano and Matt Bunyan.

A win for Dial this evening would see them extend their five-point advantage over fellow promotion-chasers CB Hounslow & Abbots, who lost 5-3 away to Worcester Park at the weekend, and with a game in hand.

Speaking ahead of the league clash against The Stones, Brown said: "I anticipate that Addlestone will change things up a bit from when we played them [in the county cup] on Saturday. I'm sure they will be hungry to avenge their 3-0 defeat.

"It will be nice to finally return to Alwyns Lane for the first time this year. Playing under the lights always makes it a nice spectacle too, so hopefully the boys will remain focused to get the job done. It will prepare us nicely ahead of our trip to Worcester Park on Saturday," he added.

For supporters and football enthusiasts travelling to Alwyns Lane by train, the nearest rail station is Chertsey, which is a c. 15-minute walk (via Guildford Street and Windsor Street) to the ground. You can plan your journey here.

Alwyns Lane football ground offers very limited parking, which is principally for players and match officials. Therefore, spectators are asked to park with consideration in the neighbouring residential streets.

There will be no admission charge for tonight's fixture and the clubhouse will be open from just after 5:30pm.
