Dial will be looking to bounce back to winning ways this evening when Steve Brown's side host Selsey in division one of the Southern Combination Football League (SCFL). 7:30pm k.o. .
After a narrow 3-2 defeat away to Saltdean United at the weekend, Dial will be hoping lady luck is on their side after surprisingly coming away from Hill Park Stadium empty-handed.
It's the first meeting between Dial and their West Sussex opponents - who usually play in navy blue - and have been members of the SCFL for 12 seasons.
Despite finishing eighth in last season's competition, The Seals ' form has fallen behind the curve somewhat, after losing five of their opening league fixtures, half as many as they lost all season. However, they received a confidence boost on Saturday (10 Oct) after registering a 3-1 win away at Hailsham Town, who Dial face at Redding Way at the weekend.
Brown is pleased to welcome back vice captain George Frith and winger Danny Taylor to the 16-man squad, with both having been sidelined for several weeks.
New Knaphill loan-signing Ben Michell is also expected to feature for The Dial tonight, alongside Joshua Adjei, who scored again at the weekend after coming on as a second half substitute. Although, there is still no place for Callum Abraham-Barlow, who is unavailable, which could see Miles Davies moved to left back.
Speaking to DialSquareFC.com on Monday (12 Oct), Brown believes that there were still plenty of positives to take away from Saturday's loss against Saltdean. He said: "It's hard to accept defeat when you've played well, but if we can show the same tenacity against Selsey, I'm sure we'll be ok.
"They [Selsey] will obviously be buoyed by picking up three points away to Hailsham Town at the weekend; however, we haven't lost at home all season. We've found a way to win on a difficult playing surface, which should stand us in good stead.
"Moreover, it will be good to have a couple of lads back from injury to help strengthen the side. Having a strong squad of players is important with over two thirds of the season remaining," added Brown.
