Dial return to the 3G pitch at Surrey Sports Park today (12 July) when they host Hampshire-based Cove in the second of seven pre-season friendlies. 2pm k o.
Despite losing 3-1 to newly-promoted Combined County Football League Division One North side (step 5) Windsor & Eton Brown on Tuesday (8 July), Dial boss Brown said there were "plenty of positives" to take away from the performance, especially in the first half.
Cove, who finished mid-table in last season's Wessex Football League Division One (step 6) campaign, will present a different challenge this afternoon.
The Wasps have already played two pre-season friendlies, winning 5-2 against Cranleigh on Wednesday (9 July) and losing 3-0 against Reading City last Saturday.
For Dial fans making the trip to Surrey Sports Park, it will be another opportunity to see a number of new players and triallists in action, as well as some familiar faces from the past two seasons.
Brown will use the opportunity to gauge players’ fitness, aptitude and fit after Windsor & Eton finished the stronger of the two sides in midweek.
For those travelling to Surrey Sports Park, you can plan your route here. There is ample car parking available on site. The venue is not easy to access via public transport.
