DIAL STAND UNITED ON TRIP TO TOOTING

DIAL STAND UNITED ON TRIP TO TOOTING

Andy Fitzsimons31 Jan - 06:43

Leaders to travel light to South London

Dial will be hoping to maintain their advantage at the top of the table when they travel to Imperial Fields to play Tooting & Mitcham United U23s today (31 Jan). 3pm k.o.

It will be the sixth consecutive time that Dial have played away from home on an artificial (3G) pitch after last week's Premier Challenge (League) Cup (home) tie against Richmond & Kew was switched to Royal Holloway Sports Centre due to Alwyns Lane being waterlogged.

The last and only time that Dial have played Tooting & Mitcham United U23s was in the 2-0 home win back in November, courtesy of two early goals from Jordan Carter and Tom Adag (match report).

Since then, the Terrors U23s have played just five times (one in the county cup); the last being on 10 January in the 3-1 league win over Richmond & Kew at Imperial Fields.

In contrast, Dial have the same number of league fixtures as United in January alone; all of which have been played on an artificial (3G) surface.

Dial will be depleted in numbers for the trip to South London today, with Louie Rogers, Ross Ewen, Tom Adag, Harry Rice, Bradley Sweeney, George Lawrence and Aidan Phillips all unavailable. Captain Zac Hawker will also be out until the autumn (2026) after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) a fortnight ago.

However, Dial boss Steve Brown is pleased to welcome Samuel Bello-Balogun back to the club on a dual registration with Ashford Town (Middlesex) this week, with the midfielder expected to go straight into the starting XI to face the Terrors.

Speaking to DialSquareFC.com ahead of the match, Brown said: "With so many players out or unavailable, it will be a tough game against Tooting [& Mitcham U23s] this weekend.

"That said, we have a squad of players for a reason, and I'm confident that the team will rally to secure the points in what would be a perfect month."
