DIAL TO SQUARE UP AGAINST KNAPHILL IN WARM-UP

DIAL TO SQUARE UP AGAINST KNAPHILL IN WARM-UP

Andy Fitzsimons19 Jul - 05:15

Brown to reschuffle the troops for visit to British army camp

Dial head over to Aldershot Garrison this afternoon (19 July) to play Knaphill in third of seven pre-season friendlies. 3pm k o.

Despite being down on personnel against Wessex Football League Division One side Cove (step 6) last Saturday, Steve Brown will be looking to take a strong squad to Hampshire for what will be the third meeting against The Knapppers in three years.

Brown is hoping to welcome back former Knaphill players Zac Hawker and George Frith, as well as several other triallists, in the bid to identify the strongest line-up ahead of next month's Surrey Premier County Football League campaign.

Meanwhile, Knaphill (step 5) are under the sole management of Mike Woolgar this coming season, after co-manager Paul Johnson stepped down in April.

Today's opponents, who finished seventh in the 2024/25 Combined County Football League Premier Division South, will arguably be Dial's toughest test to date. They have already played Bedfont Sports (step 4), Leatherhead (step 4) and Westfield (step 4) before returning to winning ways (4-2) against Sandhurst Town (step 6) in midweek.

The fixture will be played at the Army Floodlit Training Pitch (3G) in Aldershot (GU11 2JL). Ample parking is available in car park 6, which is a four-minute walk from the pitch.

For those traveling by public transport, the nearest rail station to the venue is North Camp, which is on the South Western Railway. You can plan your journey here.
