Dial are back on the road today (12 April) when Steve Brown's side travel to Skinners Field to play Worcester Park in the league. 2pm k.o.
Following last Saturday's 3-3 draw against fellow title-chasers Wimbledon Casuals at Alwyns Lane, today's outing will also be anything but a walk in the park for The Dial.
While the hosts' league form has tailed off in recent weeks; with one win, one draw and three defeats, The Park's season is still very much alive and kicking.
The south Londoners, who won the Surrey Premier County Football League in 2022, and finished runners-up to Wimbledon Casuals last season, reached the final of the Surrey FA Saturday Intermediate Cup three weeks ago after a 3-1 win over Parkside. They will now face Kew Park Rangers at Meadowbank on 28 April.
Meanwhile, all eyes will be on whether Dial can leapfrog Wimbledon Casuals in the table and close the gap on AFC Walcountians, who play their final league game of the season this afternoon away to relegation-threatened Bagshot at Krooner Park. See today's fixtures here.
Dial will be without influential captain Will Neville and talisman winger Jordan Carter (injured) for the trip to Worcester Park. However, Brown is pleased to welcome back defender Adam Sewell and midfielder Aidan Doran, who deputised for Brown in the technical area against Wimbledon Casuals.
Dial striker Harry Rice will be hoping he can continue his rich run of form after netting his 26th-league goal of the season (in 22 appearances) last Saturday, while Lee Wilson leads the charge for The Park with 14 goals in 16 league appearances (source The FA).
Speaking to DialSquareFC.com ahead of today's fixture, Brown said: "I don’t know much about Worcester Park, albeit I know a few of their players who I have played against before.
"They're likely to be a big, physical side. Also, the pitch at Skinners Lane is unlikely to be set-up for total football, so it will be a battle of wills.
"I'm not expecting the challenge to be any different from last week [v Wimbledon Casuals], but I have faith that the players will give a good account of themselves. A lot hinges on us getting a result today," he added.
For fans looking to travel to Skinners Field, you can plan your journey here. No admission charge applies for the fixture. The clubhouse will be open from 12pm. No onsite parking is available and no dogs (unless guide dogs) are allowed on site.
