The Surrey Premier County Football League has received its first casualty following the withdrawal of Selhurst from the 2025/26 competition.
Member clubs were informed during the League's annual pre-season meeting - held at Alwyns Lane this evening (13 August) - that, owing to reported financial constraints, Selhurst would be unable to meet its obligations for the upcoming season.
Dial were due to play Selhurst at home in the first round of the Premier Challenge (League) Cup on 25 October 2025, and then again on 8 November in the League. The League will now decide if Dial, like AFC Royal Holloway, will receive a bye into the next round.
Selhurst gained promotion into the Surrey Premier County Football League after finishing as champions of the Surrey South Eastern Combination Football League - Intermediate Division One last season. Their surprise withdrawal means that the League will now comprise 14 teams for the 2025/26 season.
