NEW SPCFL MEMBER CLUBS FOR 2025/26 SEASON

Andy Fitzsimons21 Jun - 16:00

League competition maintained at 15 clubs

The Surrey Premier County Football League (SPCFL) have approved four new clubs into the 2025/26 league constitution at today's (21 June) annual general meeting.

Attending SPCFL member clubs unanimously accepted the applications of Richmond & Kew, Selhurst, Laleham (formerly Laleham & Kempton), and Tooting & Mitcham United U23s into next season's competition.

Selhurst and Laleham both gained promotion after winning the Surrey South Eastern Combination Football League and Surrey County Intermediate League (Western) Premier Division respectively.

Meanwhile, Richmond & Kew finished third in the Kingston & District Football League Premier Division (step 8); five points behind winners Barnes, who were denied entry to the SPCFL due to their availability of their proposed ground.

Tooting & Mitcham United 23s are perhaps the surprise addition to next season's competition after The Terrors' development side have switched from the Suburban Football League Central Division to the SPCFL.

The four outfits replace 2024/25 title winners AFC Walcountians, who were promoted to Southern Combination Football League (step 6), while Hersham were regelated to the Surrey County Intermediate League (Western) Premier Division (step 8). Frenches Athletic have side-stepped to the Mid-Sussex Football League after just one season in the SPCFL. Elsewhere, Banstead Rovers have disbanded, after their 2024/25 SPCFL records were expunged.
