Dial striker on course to top the billboard

Dial striker Harry Rice has his sights firmly set on becoming the Surrey County Intermediate League (Western)'s all-time leading goalscorer.

Rice, 22, (sponsored by JV Tennis Coaching) has already amassed 30 Premier Division goals (38 in all competitions to date) this season and is chasing down Matthew Adams’ impressive record of 34 goals in 26 games for Laleham (now Laleham & Kempton) during the 2015/16 season*.

The Dial marksman has been on target in all but one of Steve Brown side's league fixtures this season, which was away to Shottermill & Haslemere on 14 October 2023.

Rice has scored four hat-tricks, including four goals in the 11-0 win against Hambledon at Alwyns Lane on 9 September 2023, and topped the billboard with 12 goals in five league games in the same month.

Since joining the club in the summer of 2023, Rice has averaged 1.76 goals per game in 17 league outings (1.73 goals per game in 22 league and cup fixtures) to accentuate his goalscoring prowess.

With nine league fixtures remaining between now and 27 April 2024, The Dial striker could still top half-a-century to make him one of the top scorers at any level of English football following the introduction of the Whole Game System (WGS) administration software in 2015.

For the historians, Dixie Dean remains the all-time domestic league goalscorer after netting an unprecedented 60 goals for Everton in the first division (now Premier Division) during the 1927/28 season.
