THE SURREY COUNTY CUP SEMI-FINAL DRAW HAS BEEN MADE

Stuart Morgan8 Mar 2022 - 18:32

Dial Square Will Face RC Old Boys At Addlestone Moor

After the epic quarter-final victory versus Worcester Park 'Res' last Saturday, Dial Square Football Club can confirm they have been drawn at home against RC Old Boys from the Kingston & District Premiership.
In what will be another difficult tie, The Dial will know they're just one victory from their first ever cup final appearance.

Speaking about the club's amazing cup run, Simon Martin explains how he feels it's gone so far.

THE BOSS

"After reaching the semi-final of the cup last Saturday, I have taken time to reflect on this season's cup run. Like all cup runs we have had highs and lows in pretty much every tie we've played in and we've rode our luck at times.
However, I have to say in general we have had the players and team spirit you need in these games to give us the extra edge over our opponents. This has helped to get us over the line and into the semis, but it’s hasn’t been plain sailing.

It’s started why back in October with a win over Abbey Rangers 'Res' 3-1, and with wins over Worplesdon Phoenix 'Res' 7-4, Royal Holloway Reserves 3-0 and Worcester Park 'Res' 3-2 shows how far we have some and, in those results, how exciting/nervy some of the games have been. But, like all cup games, it’s all about finding a way to win and getting yourself into the hat for the next round, so massive respect to all the players and staff that have been involved.

As we look forward to the next round, we want to give ourselves the best chance to get into the final. So, I will be working hard to get the best team/squad we can and be as fit as we can be for the semi on March the 26th. It’s nice to have home tie, as the last 3 rounds have all been away. The hard work starts now and to be honest with everything we have gone through this season, it is a massive achievement to get this far, so well done to all my players involved and all the fans that have travelled miles to support us. We as a club can't thank them enough. Hopefully we can go one more step in the next round and reach a final".

The club can clearly echo those sentiments and we'd like to take this opportunity to wish Simon, Ross and all the playing squad, the very best of luck for the semi-final.
