Dial are back in league action this afternoon (22 Nov.) when Steve Brown's side welcome Tooting & Mitcham United U23s at Alwyns Lane. 2pm k.o.
Following Dial's 1-1 home draw against Keen Park Rangers a fortnight ago, Brown will be looking for his side to close the gap at the top of the table and extend their unbeaten run to nine in league and cup competitions.
United's development squad are one of three sides, along with Richmond & Kew and Laleham, to join the Surrey Premier County Football League this season.
Our south London visitors currently sit mid-table after losing five of their opening 10 league fixtures. However, they could be boosted by the return of top scorer Dante Walker, who missed The Terrors' 2-1 home defeat against Worcester Park last Saturday due to serving a one-match suspension.
Meanwhile, Brown is expected to name a strong side, with influential captain Zac Hawker and George Frith both back in contention. Although Dial will need to make do defensively without Charlie Marshall and Callum Abraham-Barlow, who are both unavailable. Aidan Phillips (hamstring) is also expected to be sidelined until January.
Speaking to DialSquareFC.com on Friday, Brown said: "It will be good to have some key players back for the visit of Tooting [and Mitcham United] this weekend. They're largely an unknown quantity in this league; their results have been up and down, so it's difficult to know what to expect from them.
"For us, we need to continue to do the basics well and stick to our game plan. If we do that, we have every chance of securing the points, which we need to maintain our pressure at the top of the table.
"It's not ideal to have a break in fixtures when you're trying to build momentum, but we've had another good start to the league and it's now time for us to really kick-on and be laser-focused on securing promotion.
"I've applied a bit of pressure on the lads after we dropped points against Keens Park Rangers at home. To their credit, they've responded well over the past couple of weeks at training. They look sharp and ready for this weekend," added Brown.
For supporters and football enthusiasts travelling to Alwyns Lane, there are diversions [see National Highways website] in place along the A3 carriageway, so please use alternative routes from Cobham.
If you are travelling by train, the nearest rail station is Chertsey, which is a c. 15-minute walk (via Guildford Street and Windsor Street) to the ground. You can plan your journey here.
Alwyns Lane football ground offers very limited parking, which is principally for players and match officials. Therefore, spectators are asked to park with consideration in the neighbouring residential streets.
