Life after Simon Martin got off to defeat yesterday, as Dial Square slipped to a narrow 1-0 defeat against Manorcroft Utd, at Alwyns Lane.
The defeat now means the club are out the League Cup after failing to progress from the group stage.

The team responded very well after a tough week, but the visitors did take the lead inside 2 minutes.
What followed was a good battling performance form the whole team and it was the home side who were on top for the rest of the first half.

There was one half chance for new signing Perry Coles, but he couldn’t convert the opportunity. 1-0 at half-time and it was all to play for.

Manorcroft played some good football at times and started to create some chances. The best of the bunch was one that saw them hit the post, but other than that, it was an even contest in the second period.

The game fizzled out and The Dial slipped to another defeat in the Cup competition, but there are many positives to take out of the game, despite the 1-0 scoreline.
