Brownie got his first League win at the second time of asking yesterday, as Dial Square beat a tough Farncombe side at Alwyns Lane.
With Matt Bunyan & Perry Coles making their League debuts for the club, it only took The Dial 28 minutes before they were in front.
A great overlapping run from Alfie Wride allowed him to swing in a superb cross, which was duly converted by Bunners. A great start to his debut.
The football was good from both sides and Farncombe showed some great passages of play and managed to haul themselves level 5 minutes before the break.
The build up to the goal was basic, but the home side were second best to every challenge before the ball found its way to Jay Lawson, who smashed it home inside the box, to make it 1-1.
After barely a minute of the restart, The Dial went ahead for a second time. Joe Burrell netting a great goal to register two goals in as many games.
In what was a must-win game for Dial Square, hanging onto the lead was imperative, but they were carved open again on the hour mark when Don Hardisty found space in the box to finish well past Richard Ossai. It was 2-2 and the game was very much in the balance again.
However, it was Bunners to the rescue with the goal of the game to win it for The Dial.
With just over 10 minutes remaining, he smashed home a superb volley, beating Ian Duncan all ends up, with the ball cannoning off the post and over the line. What a debut!
It finished 3-2 and now Dial Square have a very tough double-header against Lightwater Utd to focus on, where the squad will need to be at their absolute best to beat them.
