After last week’s important victory over Farncombe, Steve Brown’s men faced a tough away trip to Lightwater Utd, at the Leisure Centre.

With new defensive recruitments in Adam Sewell and a first start for James Vass, Dial Square looked a very solid outfit at the back.
However, it was the attacking threat from the first whistle that was the most eye-catching element from the visitors.

The Dial could’ve found themselves two goals ahead within the first 5 minutes, but the efforts from Joe Burrell & Bunners were off target.
The visitors piled forward and created a fair amount of opportunities, with George Lawrence and Bunners having some good chances, but no one could find the back of the net.

The team are starting to look the best they’ve ever been and although the half-time whistle went with the game still goalless, there was a strong belief it was only a matter of time before the deadlock was broken.

The second-half was much the same. The visitors were on top and were working very hard to stay there, but finally, in the 72nd minute, they got the reward for all their efforts!
Great work from Bunners outside the box, saw him deliver a deadly ball across the box for Perry Coles to convert from close range. It was his first goal for the club and what a time to score it!

Despite Dial Square’s dominance for large parts, Lightwater Utd did have a goal ruled out for offside and in the 89th minute, saw another goal chalked off. This time for a foul on the keeper’.

It finished 1-0 and the 3 points were safe. It should be worth noting that The Dial will have to be every bit as good next week (against the same opposition), to come away with the victory.
