Dial passed up the opportunity to close out 2025 on a high after losing to Sheerwater Reserves away in the first round of the Aldershot Divisional Football Association (ADFA) Saturday Intermediate Cup on Saturday (20 Dec).

After an evenly contested affair, The Sheers got their noses in front thanks to an opportunist Greg Cardy goal on the half-hour mark. However, an 84th-minute strike from Charlie Marshall got a much-depleted Dial side back on level terms.

With nothing to separate the two sides at full-time, it was The Sheers who eventually came out on top, winning 4-3 on penalties to book their place in the quarter-finals away to Yateley United under-23s.
