Brown's army are one of English football's top scorers.

Dial’s goalscoring spree continued on Saturday (9 March) against Tongham to maintain Steve Brown's side seven-point lead at the top of the table.

Two first half goals from 21-year-old Daniel Cenzano proved to be the difference at Poyle Road Recreation Ground, which saw The Dial score their 100th goal in just 23 league and cup games this season.

Brown's side lay siege to The Redmen’s goal as early as the fourth minute when Cenzano’s downward header went just wide of the post. A minute later, Liam Larby was called into action to save low to deny Charlie Marshall.

With the hosts camped in their own half, it came as no surprise when Cenzano fired The Dial in front after nine minutes following some good wide play from Harry Rice.

And Rice thought he had doubled Dial's tally a few minutes later when he managed to breach the Tongham backline, only for the goal to be ruled out for offside.

Louie Rogers went agonisingly close to mark his return to the fold, but his back-post header, under pressure from Jake Edwards, dropped the wrong side of the post.

Shortly after, Rogers was sin-binned for dissent following a rash challenge on him, although it did little to hamper Dial’s momentum.

Larby then stood his ground well to deny Marshall from close range; however, the shot-stopper was powerless to stop Cenzano’s piledriver from 12 yards to mark his second and Dial’s 100th goal this season five minutes before the break. And it didn't get any better for the hosts when captain Harry Broad was also sin-binned for dissent on the cusp of half-time.

Roger Wilkinson’s wayward shot was The Redmen’s first shot on goal after 51 minutes, before Larby saved low to deny Marshall at the other end.

As the game ebbed and flowed, Rice had a golden opportunity to score his 39th of the season, but again Larby held his nerve to thwart the striker after he was clean through on goal.

Tongham had a great opportunity to pull a goal back in the 89th-minute after Wilkinson was upended by Aidan Phillips in the box. However, Wilkinson’s resulting spot-kick was superbly saved by Andy Rider leaving Dial to play out a 2-0 victory.

Speaking after the match, Brown said: “It was always going to be an awkward game on a challenging playing surface, but I thought we were unlucky to only be 2-0 up at half-time.

“I didn’t think we were as dominant in the second half; the match was a bit stop-start, but we defended resolutely and still created some good chances to score.

“Importantly, it was another good win away from home and a clean sheet thanks to Andy Rider’s penalty save,” added Brown.

Dial Square line-up: Rider, L.Rogers, Bunyan, Vass, Vassell, Finley Rose-Davies, Cenzano (Porcher), Phillips, Rice, Lawrence (Jennings), Marshall (Lawrence). Unused subs: Brown, Neville
