Dial continued their rich run of form this afternoon (26 Sept) after a resounding 6-0 home win against Ringmer to move up to fifth in the Southern Combination Football League Division One table.

A brace from Adam Aziz, and one each from Harry Rice, Charlie Plant, Ross Ewen and Joshua Adjei, extended Dial's unbeaten league run to five games; six in all competitions.

It was also the hosts' fifth consecutive clean sheet in the league - with the last league goal conceded back on 22 August - to maintain their unblemished record at Redding Way.

With the boss away, the boys will play, which is a sporting variation of the classic cat and mice proverb. Despite the planned absence of Steve Brown and assistant manager Jimmy Norman; along with several key midfielders, Dial looked composed and largely unimpeded throughout against a young and inexperienced Ringmer side.

Under the guidance of coach Jake Kennett from the technical area, it took Dial just three minutes to get off the mark when Rice latched onto a great through ball from Aidan Doran to slip the ball past William Moger to re-open his scoring account after signing from Egham Town on Friday.

Five minutes later, Rice cut outside his marker in the box to pick out Plant on the edge of the six-yard box. Despite Moger saving his first effort, Plant made no mistake with the follow-up to tap in at the near post to make it 2-0.

Rice's pace and agility was causing the Blues' defence all sorts of problems, and the striker was inches away from doubling his tally when his sprint towards goal and low shot across Moger bobbled just wide of the far post midway through the first period.

Shortly after, Callum Abraham-Barlow managed to breach the Blues' backline after a neat interchange with Rice, but the full-back's cross-shot flashed across goal with no-one on hand to tap it home.

Dial continued to press, with Rice again denied by some last ditch defending after Moger had over committed himself on the edge of the box. However, the Blues' shot-stopper showed his value three minutes before half-time to palm away Aziz's curling left-foot shot to keep the scoreline respectable.

There was no let up for the visitors after the break, when Aziz side-stepped his marker in the box before coolly picking his spot past Moger to make it 3-0 eight minutes after the restart.

The hosts extended their advantage to four just two minutes later when the 26-year-old attacking midfielder drifted unmarked to the back post to score his second of the afternoon.

Ross Ewen added a fifth in the 61st-minute, after Rice unselfishly squared the ball to Ewen on the penalty spot. It marked a memorable first competitive goal for the midfielder since his arrival in October 2025.

Defender-come-striker Adjei then turned his marker outside of the box but his rasping drive fell straight into the arms of Moger.

With the visitors only registering one shot on target, it was perhaps inevitable that Dial weren't finished just yet. And so it proved when Adjei popped up to score his second in as many matches in the 90th-minute to round off a superb 6-0 win.

Speaking after the match, Kennett said: "It was nice to see the work that we’ve been doing at training a couple of weeks ago really come together against Ringmer. I thought the movement and the rotations were good to create the opportunities for us to score.

"When you win by a big margin, it can be easy to overlook the defensive work, but I thought the lads kept their concentration, which means it’s now five clean sheets in five league games at home.

"I thought Ross Ewen was phenomenal in midfield, but the whole team played really well, including the lads that came on. We imposed ourselves on the game, we were dominant, we won the aerial battles, ground duels and showed the right level of aggression throughout. This sets the right tone going into our next fixture," added Kennett.
