Dial play their penultimate league fixture against Shottermill & Haslemere on Saturday (20 April) at Alwyns Lane. 2pm k.o.

The fixture marks a special occasion in the calendar for Steve Brown’s title-winning side, who will walk out on the pitch with mascots for the first time, before being presented with the Surrey County Intermediate League (Western) Premier Division trophy after the match.

After two tough encounters against Lightwater United and Worplesdon Phoenix over past eight days, Brown is expecting his players to considerably up their game to make it an afternoon to remember.

The Dial boss has no intention of letting the moment just pass by; acknowledging that The Shotts will not be turning out to make up the numbers to simply fulfil their fixture obligations. They’ll want to win.

Speaking to DialSquareFC.com on Friday (19 April) morning, Brown said: “We’ve already played Shottermill & Haslemere three times this season; once in the league, and once in the league and county cup competitions. Each game has been tough; arguably some of the hardest games we’ve had this season, so I’m expecting nothing less this time around.

“However, I hope this Saturday [20 April] will be a real family occasion, where players’ relatives and fans can come together to celebrate the team’s first silverware.

“It’s a great opportunity for fans to be even closer to the action and to feature in the club’s celebration pictures in front of the main stand after the match,” added Brown.

Dial are expected to be without Jordan Carter, Louie Rogers and Arnie Linturn for the visit of The Shotts, which could pave the way for Sam McDermaid to come straight into the starting eleven to help bolster Dial’s attacking options.

It’s also an opportunity for others to receive more game-time and stake a claim for a shirt ahead of the league cup final against Milford & Witley in two weeks’ time.

Remember, you can still purchase a home and/or away 2023-2025 Dial Square shirt before and after the match for £35. Please enquire in the main clubhouse or contact us for more information.

For supporters and football enthusiasts travelling to Alwyns Lane by train, the nearest rail station is Chertsey, which is a c. 15-minute walk (via Guildford Street and Windsor Street) to the ground (map). Please check South Western Railway’s live timetable here prior to departure.
